Select Your Practical Test

We believe a scenario is just the start of the conversation during a practical test. To help you prepare effectively and reduce the uncertainty of what you will need to plan for, we make our standard planning requirements and scenarios public.

Please select your evaluation type below to access your Airman Certification Standards (ACS), our required pre-flight planning notes, and scenarios to prepare for your checkride.

A Note on Preparation: Working with your peers, instructors, or mentors to plan your scenario is perfectly fine—in fact, consulting resources is exactly what we do when planning a real-world flight. However, remember that during the checkride, you are the pilot in command. You will be the one explaining your route, performance data, and aeronautical decisions. Our conversation will be led by you, and it is incredibly difficult to explain the "why" behind someone else’s planning.
